Description:

Sarah's Appliance Repair is a family owned & operated repair company based in Idaho Falls, ID. We are rapidly growing and looking for someone to permanently join our team. We are currently searching for an ENTRY LEVEL Appliance Repair Technician. Once trained, you will perform individual consumer in-home appliance repairs, with special attention paid to providing them with superior customer service.
The Appliance Repair Technician position will involve:
  •  Providing timely and quality repairs of customer's products while maintaining the highest levels of customer service.
  • Engage in customer interactions providing estimates, collecting payments, and issuing receipts
  • Use required and available resources for repairs and to update electronic service records
  •  Installation/removal of new and used appliances
  • Dryer vent cleaning
  • Interacting with customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Conducting effective troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Maintaining proper company policy and procedure.

Job Responsibilities
As an Appliance Repair Technician, you will be responsible for the repair of products in the customer's home and will provide knowledgeable and courteous repair service. Products that you will repair include (but are not limited to) the following home appliances: washer and dryers, gas and electric stoves, microwave ovens, dishwashers, trash compactors and refrigerators.
Your specific duties as an Appliance Repair Technician will include:
  •  Maintaining vehicle stock inventory within the prescribed company
standards.
  • Following the vehicle maintenance schedule and keeping a clean and
organized vehicle.
  • Continuously looking for methods to improve business performance
and to enhance the customer experience.
  • Performing miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements
As an Appliance Repair Technician, you must have a basic electrical and mechanical background as well as exceptional troubleshooting, analytic and problem-solving skills. You must also have solid interpersonal and customer service abilities.

Specific qualifications for the Appliance Repair Technician position include
  • Good computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet browsing conventions
  • Ability to prioritize activities in a multi-tasking environment
  • HS Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Have and maintain a valid state driver's license
  • Be willing to obtain CFC Certification within a reasonable time
  • Ability/experience diagnosing and repairing major appliances
  • Proven good communication skills
  • Self-directed and solid team player
  • Have verifiable, stable work history
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics and other service information
  • Successfully complete background check and drug screen
  • Ability to de escalate situations and rebuild customer confidence in our services
  • Ability to use a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and vibratory tools
  • Ability to follow CDC Covid-19 guidelines/recommendations for in-home service. 
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without accommodation, including, but not limited to:
    • Ability to step up, into, and out of a van and sit for extended periods of time
    • Ability to handle/work with parts/equipment which may be hot, cold, and/or wet
    • Ability to use often powered hand tools and occasional use of vibratory tools/equipment
    • Ability to frequently lift, pull and push up to 50 pounds and occasionally in excess of 100 pounds
    • Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach at shoulder level, reach at waist level, bend, push/pull, grasp, pinch, and fine motor/manipulations skills
    • Occasional reaching overhead, reaching at knee and floor levels, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs/ladders, pivoting, twisting, neck flexion/extension/rotation, shoulder circumduction, and lying supine
  •  Ability to use a full range of electronics, tools and equipment for diagnosing and completing repairs.
  •  Flexibility with regard to schedule and willingness to work evenings and occasional Saturdays.
